Little Things Interactive Book
Skills: Visual Storytelling, Paper Mechanisms, Prototyping, Illustration
For my final project at Northeastern University I created a book dedicated to my family highlighting some not so little “little things” they’ve done throughout the years that have made me feel loved and supported.
This project challenged me to think about what key visuals I would need to tell a story without narration and still get the point of what is happening across. It also challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and work with paper mechanisms for the first time.
When the pandemic hit in 2020 and schooling became virtual, my resources became limited and I had to adjust the scope and plan for my project. I watched Youtube tutorials to learn about different paper mechanisms and thought through different ways I could use these mechanisms to make an interactive book to tell a story.
This project was completed with a pad of bristol paper, an X-acto knife, watercolor, and many hours of watching YouTube tutorial videos.
